Atterbury Property will develop offices for leading companies Servest and Colgate Palmolive at Waterfall.

Servest Waterfall

Waterfall is rapidly attracting leading corporates and has already claimed its spot among South Africa's pre-eminent business addresses.

Waterfall, strategically located between Midrand and Sandton, is the largest 'greenfield' urban concept development in the country and positioned to become one of the strongest and most successful nodes in South Africa. Attacq Waterfall Investment Company holds the development rights to the prestigious Waterfall Business Estate, and is 81.2% owned by JSE-listed Attacq and 18.8% by Atterbury Property Holdings.

Atterbury Property Development Director, Coenie Bezuidenhout is responsible for coordinating this mammoth commercial real estate project. He comments: "It is a pleasure to welcome Servest and Colgate Palmolive to Waterfall. We look forward to creating a strategic business presence for both of these esteemed brands, with purpose-designed offices in a vibrant and burgeoning business node that really meets the needs of modern companies."

Noted consumer products company, Colgate Palmolive, will join Waterfall City in an entire 4,241sqm building at Maxwell Office Park. This, the fifth building in the park, will become its new administrative head office, and is set for completion in September 2015.

Servest, the leading multi-service solutions group, has chosen Waterfall's Logistics Precinct as the prime location for its 6,650sqm custom-built new head office and warehouse facility. The landmark new headquarters will enjoy outstanding visibility on the N1 highway.

Servest's Group Marketing Manager Deborah Wiertek reports that Servest's bespoke new offices at Waterfall will emphasise its open, progressive culture.

Architect Jonathan Leibowitz of Empowered Spaces Architecture, describes the building as being designed to have the effect of a suspended lantern, with a grand three-storey glass box shrouded in a concrete frame. It will feature sculpted shading screens, strategically placed to achieve a multi-layered sculpted building, reflecting its multi-service solutions.

Wiertek comments: "Besides a design that reflects Servest's robust market position and integrated service offering, our new head office is facilitating Servest's property consolidation project, driving efficiencies and rationalising costs. It will create a workspace that allows our divisions to work more closely and develop our offering of integrated facilities management services to clients."

Another key motivation for Servest's choice of Waterfall as the site of its new headquarters is the traffic implications. "Our research shows Waterfall has the best short-, medium-, and long-term traffic plans. We've also given extensive consideration to access to public transport including taxis, buses and links to the Gautrain," explains Wiertek.

The Servest building will welcome visitors with a contemporary reception on the ground floor, a selection of vibrant meeting rooms and an efficient call centre. The upper floors will comprise a combination of efficient open-plan offices, complemented by pause areas and rooms for meetings and quite spaces. The energised building will also include a large state-of-the-art boardroom, gym and canteen.

Waterfall is closing the gap between northern Sandton and Midrand, creating a large growth node and a new modern city. It spans land on both sides of the N1 highway from the Woodmead to the Allandale interchanges and enjoys superb access from Pretoria, Sandton and Johannesburg.

Bezuidenhout confirms that its ideal positioning in Gauteng's economic hub is a large draw card for business to Waterfall. "This, combined with the benefits of being in a modern city with excellent amenities from the iconic 127,000sqm Mall of Africa opening in 2016 to hotels and a hospital, as well as a community of leading blue-chip and multinational businesses, all add to Waterfall's appeal."

These two top business names join an ever-growing line-up of leading companies to select Waterfall as their business address, including Cell C, Group 5, Altech, Digistics, Massbuild, Cipla, Golder & Associates, MB Technologies, Virgin Active, Premier Foods, Dräger S.A, City Lodge, Westcon Group, Angel Shack, Novartis, Covidien, Cummins and Honda Motor SA. Atterbury has offices at Waterfall City and Attacq's head-office is also based there.
