Julie Hillary commenced employment within the Property Industry with Finlay in 1991, a property management company, which was established in 1983. The Property Management over this period has included Commercial, Industrial and Retail Properties for various Clients.

Having worked through most positions within a property company from Accountant to Leasing to Portfolio Manager Julie became the Operational Director in 2002 and Managing Director in 2004 remaining as such until 2009.

Julie commenced employment with Liberty Properties in February 2010 as the General Manager of the Sandton Region with a focus to develop, implement and manage the strategic vision for the Sandton City Complex encompassing both the development and improvement of the assets as a whole.

Her passion for retail and involvement in the broader Retail Industry resulted in her being appointed as the first woman President of the South African Council of Shopping Centres for two terms from 2007 to 2009.

Julie serves as a Director on the Sandton Business District board.
