The transformation of the Johannesburg CBD enjoys a further boost as Rhema Church has recently opened its doors to a new satellite venue

Ray McCauleyThe new satellite venue for Rhema Church, which hosts an extension of the weekly services, is located at 10 Smit Street between Braamfontein, the Johannesburg CBD, Newtown and Milpark. The venue is surrounded by many residential apartments, office blocks, the M1 highway on/off ramps and most importantly it is next door to the Braamfontein Train Station.

“We are very excited about the opportunity of starting a fresh work in the heart of the CBD, what excited us about this property was the convenience of the location being next to the train station and the universities and the fact that the building is of a superior standard. The entire project fits into our vision of expansion” states Ray McCauley.

Justin Blend of Rejuvenate Properties whose company specializes in redeveloping C-grade buildings into A-grade premium space, comments “We put in a lot of effort to ensure that a property that would suite our tenant’s requirements was found. The 2,300m2 property has excellent visibility, the required ceiling height and a large hall space”.

“We anticipate large crowds from the beginning and believe that we will be able to do a lot more for the community through our physical presence in town. We anticipate setting up a Christian book store in the premises which will be a first for town” says McCauley

Rhema’s presence in the area will both be a catalyst and a contributor in the city’s rejuvenation process.
