The Don Group (DON) has decided to keep embattled businesswoman Dr Danisa Baloyi on as a director of the hotel group.
Baloyi is currently embroiled in a war of words with Absa (ASA) over her removal as a non-executive director of the banking group over public disclosures regarding her involvement with the Fidentia matter.
Absa announced earlier this week that it was terminating her services with immediate effect over the Fidentia debacle.
However, The Don Group - one of several companies on whose boards Baloyi serves - said on Friday its board and directors had met and, with the information available to them at this stage, had agreed that Baloyi would continue as a director of the company.
Baloyi, Businesswoman of the Year in 2003, was reportedly a director and trustee of Fidentia whose boss, J Arthur Brown, and the company's financial director, Graham Maddock, are facing theft and fraud charges relating to more than 200 million rand in funds belonging to the Transport Education and Training Authority.
