Pristine and luxury lakeside living has been made easy with the impending launch of exciting, tailored plot and plan property packages at Noordhoek's Lake Michelle, one of South Africa's largest and most responsible eco-estates.

New investors in this beautiful, high security development are currently able to choose a customised home package available on a variety of  prime plots for sale.  A number of different floor plans  will be available, all specially designed in the unique Lake Michelle style.
The packages start at R2.55 million for a 180 sqm home on 800 sqm metres, and cap at generously proportioned 350 sqm, five-bedroomed estate homes on up to 1900sqm.
Rohan Young from the firm Young Architecture, one of the estate’s four architects, describes the design as "a meeting of Florida seaside village and traditional Cape vernacular".
"This blending is incorporated not only in the architectural language but also in the creation of village-type streets at Lake Michelle," he says.
The properties available at this sprawling estate, nestled among the wetlands of  the Noordhoek valley alongside a 22 hectare lake, are buffered from the Atlantic ocean by a two kilometre stretch of wetlands in the Table Mountain National Park. The location offers breathtaking mountain and beach views and spectacular sunsets followed by soothing night sounds from the nature reserve.
Developers, Plan Trust, say the imminent launch of the plot and plan product comes in response to market demands and makes Lake Michelle a highly attractive investment: "There is a lot more demand for these sorts of customised packages than there was before," says Colin Bird, a director at Plan Trust.
"Many buyers don't want to go through the hassle of having to build a house after buying their stand. And a number of buyers are not local. They are too remote to go through the complexities of building from a distance. So, our customised packages are ideal for their needs," he adds.
"The buyer quite simply chooses his stand, the size and style of house - with various possibilities for adaptations - and then enters into a sale agreement which provides for a fixed period of delivery of around five months. We will facilitate the whole process  through our exclusive marketing agents, Pam Golding Properties," says Bird.
New Lake Michelle home owner Ian Aitken says he is thrilled to be living in an environment that is both "semi-rural" and extremely secure. "It's great! The tranquillity of living in a lake environment which is also secure is fantastic. "We experience such fantastic sunsets as you look over the nature reserve between us and Long Beach that you could be mistaken for thinking you're in the bushveld," he says.
The environment in and around Lake Michelle is a nature lover's paradise, teeming with indigenous flora and fauna.  Over 120 species of birdlife share this tranquil setting with an abundance of fish, otters and the rare Leopard Toad. No expense has been spared by the developers in ensuring that Lake Michelle is a model of ecologically-sensitive and responsible development.
In addition, security systems at Lake Michelle comprise some of the most sophisticated technology available and together with vigorous 24-hour patrols , the estate is one of the most secure  developments in the country.
Greg Stroebel, Development Manager at PGP says property in the south peninsula is becoming increasingly popular among both locals and foreigners. "This area is constantly gaining popularity among Capetonians wanting to live closer to nature and the ocean, yet just 30 minutes drive from the city centre." "It's also a popular choice for second home buyers and foreign investors. With the summer season almost upon us, we're expecting a vibrant market in this area."
PGP’s MD for the Western Cape metro region, Mick Joyce, describes Lake Michelle as the ideal home environment for a family who loves nature:  “This development is tailor-made for those who want to experience a safe and secure home, set among an abundance of fauna and flora, in a breathtaking valley. All this just a stone's throw away from the  Atlantic Ocean, and yet just 30km from the Cape Town CBD.”
