Preliminary estimates indicate that the value of recorded building plans passed during January to February 2006 increased by 29.8% compared with January to February 2005
 
Preliminary estimates indicate that the value of recorded building plans passed by larger municipalities - at current prices - during January to February 2006 increased by 29.8% compared with January to February 2005, Statistics South Africa said.
 
Large increases in the value of recorded building plans passed were reported for non-residential buildings (+48.6%), residential buildings
(+30.3%) and additions and alterations (+18.0%, it said.
 
Preliminary estimates  also indicate that the value of buildings reported as completed to larger municipalities - at current prices -
during the same period increased by 38.1%. Large increases in the value of buildings reported as completed were reported for non-residential buildings (+50.6%), additions and alterations (+37.7%) and residential buildings (+35.5%), Stats SA added.
