Len van Niekerk who has been rated as one of South Africa’s top two real estate analysts over the last three years, is to join Old Mutual Properties, the company said today.   Van Niekerk has been at Andisa Securities for the last five years after moving from the economics division of Standard Bank.

His appointment as head of listed property fund management at Old Mutual Properties was in line with a strategic focus on asset management and asset gathering, said Colin Young, head of asset management. 

Young said the listed property fund management team reporting to him would also be strengthened by the appointment of Greg Cort from Old Mutual Asset Management as an analyst. The team manages R6 billion in listed property assets, of which the fast-growing Old Mutual SA Quoted Property Fund comprises R1,7 billion.
