Cape Town has become an international conference destination and those able to get their hands on conference hosting facilities are finding business lucrative, says Sotheby's International Realty, operated by Lew Geffen.
Andrea Hanson of Sotheby's International Realty says Cape Town's growing profile as an attractive conference destination along with the establishment of state of the art conference centres, has had a big and positive effect on the industry.
She says now many conference organisers are looking to give delegates a broader taste of what Cape Town has to offer in areas further from the centre of town, such as the Cape winelands.
"Guest house owners and buyers are definitely realising the earning potential of these properties. The convenience of having conference facilities and accommodation under one roof, within beautiful surroundings, is that much more appealing to delegates," says Hudson.
Sotheby's is currently marketing the Lalapanzi Lodge. The property is on the market for R12m and is next to the Vergelegen wine estate in Somerset West.
