One of Cape Town’s leading commercial and industrial property companies, Baker Street Properties, recently moved to new premises on the Foreshore and has appointed additional staff to meet their expansion plans due to the growing demands of their business.

John McMahon, director of Baker Street Properties says, “The commercial and industrial property sectors have shown extraordinary growth over the past eighteen months. As one of the major players in this market we have expanded our client base and in order to keep abreast of this increased demand, it necessitated a move to larger premises. The new offices are ideally located on the 11th floor of the landmark Metlife Centre opposite the new Convention Centre on the Foreshore.

“Several new staff members have been appointed at Baker Street to complement our existing team. One of the new faces is Manda Njongonkulu Nkuhlu who has joined the commercial division as a property broker. He previously worked at the Sports Science Institute and therefore had a lot of personal interaction with sportsmen and women. This, he says, has provided him with the right interpersonal skills to enter the dynamic property market.

“He will be mentored by our more senior consultants until he is fully conversant with the finer points of this challenging and exciting industry.”

McMahon adds, “Andrew Cohen is another young man who has joined our company as a broker in the industrial division.  He has been motivated by the current trends in the industrial sector, where available land is fast diminishing and brokers need to be one step ahead of the competition in securing good deals and long term tenancies.”
