The Kumba Resources headquarters, in Pretoria, got special treatment when abe Construction Chemicals, in Boksburg, supplied the sealants and ancillary material for the sealing of its windows.

The product selected for the window sealing was silicone sealant, Dow Corning 797, used for weather-sealing curtain walling, building facades and expansion joints.  It bonds without primer with most construction materials such as concrete, stone, masonry, brick, wood, steel, glass, glazed surfaces, wood and ceramics. 

The stainless steel mullions of the building (the old Iscor headquarters) were also sealed with Dow Corning products.
