THE Joburg Property Company, which is an agency of the City of Johannesburg, will be putting together a number of tenders for various property projects in the near future.

At a business breakfast in Sandton last week, Joburg Property Company MD Leila McKenna said the company would put together a tender for a management contract for conferencing facilities at the Johannesburg zoo, a proposal calling for a development at Wolhuter Street adjacent to the Market Theatre in Newtown, and also a tender for outdoor advertising for all bus shelters in Johannesburg and taxi-rank branding.

The company will put the Jerusalem site in Fairlands out for tender in the next two years, and has just made a submission for rezoning of the area.

"We hope to rezone it for commercial, residential and industrial developments. The tender will be put out next year," says McKenna.

"We are also looking at developing the Rissik post office for commercial purposes."
