The Pam Golding Property group has appointed Kim Faclier as its new director International Division: Projects. This is a new and additional role which will see her becoming integrally involved in the international marketing of new property developments in which the PGP group is involved - particularly those forming part of the burgeoning redevelopment of Cape Town's inner city.

Faclier has over 10 years of experience in commercial property and has spent the past two years working for Pam Golding International, travelling extensively both nationally and abroad in order to market the group's portfolio of properties at international property shows and identifying properties for international buyers wishing to invest in South Africa.

Her skills at matching buyers to suitable properties have resulted in numerous happy foreign purchasers enjoying sound capital appreciation, prime locations, and all the benefits of a prime holiday and investment home in South Africa.

Commenting on the surge of redevelopment and interest in Cape Town's inner city, Faclier says the opening of the new International Convention Centre, the success of the CID (City Improvement District) in keeping crime under control, and the solid performance of the South African economy, have all played a role in bringing the city to a point where it is ready for its reinvention as a preferred international destination with top of mind awareness.

However, she says Cape Town needs to be proactive in keeping prices at reasonable rates so that it continues to be viewed as an affordable destination for tourists and foreign property buyers. "If we can keep prices within a reasonable range, there is no reason why Cape Town should not continue to attract interest from both upcountry buyers and foreigners.

"For the European traveller we are just an overnight flight away, with no time change difficulties, and easy access via world-class airlines. More and more Americans are also finding their way here via London, while there is also growing interest from tourists and buyers in the Middle East. Everyone wants to be part of the huge wave of optimism South Africa - particularly Cape Town - is experiencing," adds Faclier.
