Dave Russell, a director of Baker Street Properties, has announced that the company has successfully concluded leases for a number of high profile tenants in the newly refurbished Atlantic Centre on the Foreshore.

Russell says, "Three of the tenants include Tourvest Travel Services, Amway and Cape Consumers. These tenants between them occupy a total rentable area of more than 3,200m² with a combined lease value in excess of R27 Million."

Russell adds that the Foreshore area has seen a considerable rise in popularity recently as a head/regional office location. He says that many businesses have chosen the precinct for the ease of access to the N1 and N2 highways, as well as the close proximity to public transport including the MyCiti bus terminus.

Quality office space at competitive rentals along with high parking ratios has proved to be attractive to tenants looking for offices at this time. With some refurbished and new buildings coming on stream, there are still a number of opportunities available to tenants who may consider relocating to this part of the city.

"Against this background of the prevailing office rental market, Baker Street Properties have experienced a noticeable increase in enquiries from office tenants, who are taking a positive approach to market conditions.

Many companies who shelved their expansion or relocation plans a year ago are now coming to the market, taking advantage of the concessions currently offered, not only on the Foreshore, but in most Cape Town office nodes." concludes Russell.
