AUCTION Alliance's recently-created marketing division, headed by group marketing manager Ronen Jackson, has introduced a web-based virtual tour service (www.auctionalliance.com). The service allows the public to view the featured property in three dimensions on the Auction Alliance site. Using 3D computer models, it enables a viewer to swivel 360! in every relevant space on the property, simulating the effect of actually being on the site. "The objective of the service is to deliver better information to potential buyers, and to directly translate that into better value for the client," said Jackson. "We are now able to access bidders sitting in their offices in London and New York," he said. "In fact, foreign interest in this service has increased the hit-rate on our website by 18% since we launched our first virtual tour four weeks ago." The first tour featured a Mount Edgecombe property that was subsequently sold for R3.4 million, a hugely impressive price in Kwa-Zulu Natal, and an immediate validation of the virtual tour. "This is one of several exciting projects in the works with which we are going to turn this industry on its head," said Jackson.
