High Street Auctions achieves over R55m sales in multi-property auction

Wednesday 18 September 2013, High Street Auctions hosted their monthly property auction at Summer Place, Hyde Park where over R 55 million was achieved for 15 properties. 

Prominent Landmark Office Block in EdenvaleBoth experienced and inexperienced buyers and sellers gathered at this illustrious auction to view and participate in the well-known High Street Auctions property platform.

"We continue to be amazed at the increased interest in the properties every month," shares High Street Auctions Joint Managing Director, James Dall. "Property prices are starting to climb again, so we are seeing a lot more activity in investment type properties and luxury purchases".

Properties which received competitive bidding at the 18 September auction include:

• Prominent landmark building in the centre of Edenvale, Senet House office block on Van Riebeeck Avenue. This building is on a large stand and boasts three floors with basement parking and enjoys excellent exposure. Property went for R 7.6 million.
• Competitive bidding for the fully let commercial building on Pretoria Main Road in Kew, Gauteng which went under the hammer for R 7.1 million. High exposure onto the main road with national bank tenants. Immediate income.
• Two well-maintained retail / showroom / warehouses in Rabie Street, Fontainebleau, with quality finishes and secure parking saw frenzied bidding went for R 4.3 million.
• Fast-paced bidding of the portfolio disposal for the factory in Benrose, Gauteng. Benrose's popularity can be partly attributed to its close proximity to the Johannesburg CBD and quick and easy freeway access. Currently vacant, this building with ample power and a full sprinkler system was knocked down for R 6 million.
• Randburg Centre on Bram Fischer Drive in Ferndale. A 6 storey retail and office block with excellent exposure and income from billboards. Partially let bringing in immediate income. Good opportunity to convert to residential. Building fetched R 9.25 million.
• Magnificent home in Salt Rock, KwaZulu-Natal reached R 3.75 million. Unbeatable sea views. This three-storey home is in a secure estate and has 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 3 garages, state of the art sound system, swimming pool and a self-contained flatlet.
