ALLEN Usher, the MD of Golf Resorts International, has paid tribute to Investec and Rabie Property Projects for the professional and understanding way in which they have handled the Atlantic Beach Golf Estate development.

"It is no secret," said Usher, "that the moment Rabie became involved here sales took off - and they have continued to fly, with the latest land release (of 42 plots) seeing the fastest take up to date." Rabie, he said, had been particularly good about making decisions quickly.

"Fast decision making is essential when one is operating in a vibrant property market. Rabie have the knack of acting quickly to make the most of opportunities the current buoyant market presents." The success of Atlantic Beach, said Usher, could be attributed to: l Its location, 27km from Cape Town and close to the beach and retail centres;

l The architectural guidelines which have ensured that all homes have the prescribed sand coloured plaster walls with charcoal or grey roofs and limited overhangs;

l The strong conservation measures which have resulted in some 30% of the estate being left under fynbos and l The professional management of the club and the course. "Atlantic Beach put in a team at the outset with the necessary expertise in club management, catering, event organisation and golf course maintenance."
