The shopping centre, which includes the greenest and largest standalone Woolworths Food Store, is situated on busy Palmyra Road and in the heart of the city’s premier school node with no less than 28 schools in a 3km radius.
“There is no doubt Palmyra Junction has rapidly changed shopping habits in the area and, as anticipated, it is proving exceptionally popular among parents doing the school run.”
Anderson said the success of the centre had seen potential retail tenants queuing to get in and they now had a growing waiting list.
He said Palmyra Junction had initially been designed with retail on the ground floor and residential units above.
“However, we were inundated with requests from business related tenants wanting space in the centre and in December, we succeeded in having the residential units rezoned for commercial use and all 10 studios have already been let or are close to finalization.”
The 10 multi functional studio spaces above the shops range from 36 square metres to 110 square metres.
Anderson said they were ideally suited for entrepreneurs or professionals.
“Many of these airy studios offer double volume space, lots of natural light and creative configurations. A number also have balconies.”
He said studio tenants include a number of engineering, design and medical professionals and a learning centre for a non-government organization while new retail stores opening shortly include a Kiddiwinks lego store, Home Brew – an organic baby clothing and t-shirt store; Fashion Gallery and Southern Cross Sea Foods, a fresh fish & sushi deli and restaurant.
Anderson said they expected all the retail as well as the studio tenants to be trading by April this year.
