The 74,000sqm Hemingways Mall in East London announced its December 2010 trade statistics, reflecting strong performance in all areas

Year-on-year fourth quarter turnover and trade density growth increased by 32%. December year-on-year growth was 20.5%.

The mall, which has been open for just over one year (opening 24 September 2009), also reports significant month on month turnover growth of 8.20%, 13.43% and 84% during October, November and December 2010 respectively, indicating a rising trend, and, a quarterly growth of 51% Q3 to Q4:2010.

This positive trend is also reflected in spend per head growth which increased by 17% December year-on-year. Quarterly spend per head continues to grow with an increase of 34% Q4:2009-2010.

The number of shoppers visiting the centre also continues to increase and December saw some 1,2 million shoppers visiting the mall.

“This positive growth indicates that the mall continues in its popularity and is quickly asserting itself as a dominant regional player with no peer comparison,” explains Hemingways Mall Centre Manager Rachel Klaasen.
