Germiston featured prominently with an eight-storey office block with a gross lettable area of 9000m² on Victoria Road. Plans have been drawn up for 158 residential apartments. The hammer came down on a price of R5m.
A well-located property in the Factoria industrial node west of Johannesburg, offering various workshops, warehouses and ample office space, fetched R8,5m. Factoria is centrally located near both Krugersdorp and Roodepoort.
The property has 10587m² of industrial space with a 3100KVA power supply, and 5000 gigajoules of gas, which is suitable for manufacturing.
A bid price of R6,1m was received for a retail centre in Westonaria after spirited bidding. The centre, with a gross lettable area of 2792m², has anchor tenants that include Chicken Licken, Capitec Bank, African Bank and OK Furnishers.
A building on Mooi Street, Johannesburg, which includes retail and residential, fetched R1,5m. The building, with 20 communal units, has two retail shops, a gross lettable area of 1030m² and a gross income of R530000 a year.
Another Mooi Street commercial building, with a gross building area of 4400m² on a 967m² stand, was sold for R4,4m, described as a good price.
In a liquidation sale, three unfinished double-storey buildings in Moregloed, Pretoria, received a price of R3m. The buildings, each with seven apartments, are 90% complete.
An industrial property in Chloorkop with a gross building area of 2564m² with warehouse, workshop and offices, fetched R3,5m. A double-storey neighbourhood retail and office complex in Roodekrans, with a gross lettable area of 1700m² and a gross income of R748524 a year, was knocked down for R3m.
A number of attractive residences were on offer in the Platinum Residential Property section, notably in Poortview, Eagle Canyon and Ruimsig.
In top spot was a four-bedroom house, with three reception rooms and double wrap-around patio that belonged to Mark Player. The house, sold with two golf carts, was knocked down for R10m.
A four-bedroom, three-bathroom house in Morningside Manor came under the hammer in a bank repossession sale, which auctioneer Rael Levitt said was unheard of in Sandton.
“Houses were just not repossessed there,” he said.
A cluster home in Poortview, Kwa-Bapede, with guest suite, two en suite bedrooms, pyjama lounge and four garages, was knocked down for R2,5m.
“Prices like these for such houses are not going to come back again. So please make a note it — write it down and remember it,” Mr Levitt said.
More was paid for a smart home in the Eagle Canyon Golf Estate, offering four en suite bedrooms, pyjama lounge, home theatre and guest suite, which was sold and confirmed for R8,75m.
In Ruimsig, a 900m² home with farm-style living and income potential on 10000m² received a top bid of R4,25m. The home’s other attractions include four large reception rooms, jacuzzi, built-in bar, four double bedrooms, three bathrooms and a rock pool in the garden.
And in a liquidation sale, a one bedroom apartment in the trendy Melrose Arch fetched R2,3m — described as a good price.
