Prime property in Observatory to be redeveloped into arcade WITH the move of the Observatory Spar in Station Road to the adjacent building, one of the prime properties in this colourful suburb is to undergo transformation into an L-shaped arcade type centre ideal for service orientated traders and a restaurant or office complex.

Peter Gaiser of sole letting agents, Collins Commercial Properties, says the building, which dates back to the late 1940S, was initially used as a butchery and private residence before passing through several hands until bought by Alcino Pecego, who opened the Spar which traded there successfully for nearly seven years. Spar has now outgrown the premises and will move to larger accommodation next door.
