Chairman of Savile Row Auctions, Lew Geffen says: “We are very fortunate to have a talent like Kim Faclier to head our Cape Town operations. Not only does Kim bring a wealth of expert

“After four short months we have entered the market with a bang and are thrilled with the results, which have been astounding even to my veteran mind — R280m in confirmed sales from three property auctions in this tough market is remarkable in anybody’s language.”

“We have successfully tapped into the wealth of our collective intellectual property and along with MD Mark Kleynhans and director and lead auctioneer Joff van Reenen, have had the privilege of setting an SA record.”

This was for the highest confirmed sale price for a single commercial lot with the sale of Barclay Square in Pretoria for R72,6m. “We look forward to setting the same kind of records in the Cape Town market.”

Faclier says: “There is nothing more exciting than the adrenaline rush that accompanies the auction process — it is not only about the hammer coming down on the day, but our valued clients and the unique way in which we take our properties to market.

“Our auction cycles are going to be short, yet efficient with intense marketing campaigns in place to ensure that we attract the best of the best when it comes to our buyers.”

Savile Row Auctions has been chosen as the exclusive provider of property auction services in SA for properties listed by Lew Geffen Sotheby’s International Realty and has industry doyen, Lew Geffen, as chairman of the board.

“This auction promises to set the tone of things to come with an interesting and diverse mix of quality properties in both the commercial and residential space, totalling about R200m on the 19th of November,” Faclier says.

These will include the New National Hotel on Voortrekker Road in Parow East, which has a history spanning back to the 1950’s. The hotel complex enjoys good visibility from Voortrekker Road, a busy arterial road linking areas from Kuilsrivier in the east to the city centre of Cape Town.

The area includes shopping malls, new and used car dealers, retail outlets, offices, motor repair centres, hospitals and residential properties.

The property has a site area of 3990m² with a gross building area of 2890m². The current gross rental income is R51 040 per month, excluding the hotel area, which is owner occupied.

The property, which is located at the intersection of Camps Bay drive and Geneva Drive, enjoys prime locality close to the Camps Bay beachfront and vibrant CBD commercial area.
