JSE-listed Ambit Properties reported on Thursday that its weighted headline earnings per linked unit for the six months ended March 31 2009 were 20.19 cents, up from the 13.11 cents reported the for the previous period.

Distribution per linked unit at 18.50 cents was up from the 17.30 cents before.

The group said that revenue was at R153.4 million, up from the R115.6 million reported during the previous period.

Looking ahead, the group said that its property fundamentals remained firm with relatively low vacancies and arrears while satisfactory lease renewals had been achieved.

"Deteriorating trading conditions, particularly in the retail sector, are evident though," the group said.

At 12.20pm, shares in Ambit had eased 3 cents and were trading at R4.10.
