Tito Mboweni

Mr. Tito Mboweni was appointed as Non-Executive Chairman of Accelerate Property Fund on 1 June 2013.

Mr. Tito Mboweni served as the Minister of Labour in the first post-apartheid government led by President Mandela from 1994 until 1998.

In this position he was a member of the ANC National Executive Committee (NEC) and convenor of the NEC sub-committee on Economic Transformation (referred to as the Economic Transformation Committee or ETC). The ETC was responsible for developing the economic policy positions of the ANC.

Mr Mboweni was Advisor to South African Reserve Bank Governor, Chris Stals, from 1998 to 1999. In August 1999, he was appointed as Governor of the South African Reserve Bank and retired in November 2009.

Mr Mboweni is an international advisor to the Goldman Sachs International.

He is the Non-Executive Chairman of Nampak Limited, AngloGold Ashanti Limited and SacOil Holdings Limited.

He also holds a number of honorary qualifications and academic positions.
