SUSAN BURGER & ASSOCIATES (SB&A) was established in 1992, initially specializing in the recruitment of Professionals in the Construction and Property Development Industry.

Over the years, SB&A has primarily focused and successfully operated in the Property Industry and as a result of the professional service rendered to our clients, we were invited by the South African Property Owner Association (SAPOA) (PROCSA) and the South African Council of Shopping Centres (SACSC), to become a Member. This has enabled us to remain updated with the changing trends and developments within the Property Development Industry.

Recruitment philosophy and process

THE BRIEF:                           To successfully select a suitable candidate, we require a detailed Job Description and Person Specification.  Ideally we would like to meet with the client to                                familiarize ourselves with the company’s culture, philosophy and corporate identity.

ADVERTISING &                 Advertising is directed at attracting suitable candidates and initial

SCREENING:                         Screening is conducted telephonically

INTERVIEWING:                  We conduct personal interviews to establish the candidates’ suitability by meticulously tracing the work history and assessing career and personal aspirations.

EDUCATIONAL                    Verification of qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REFERENCE CHECKS:         Full reference checks.

SELECTION PROCESS:        Following successful reference checks, suitable candidates are then referred to the client and fully comprehensive Curriculum Vitae are forwarded to the client for                                 consideration.

PSYCHOMETRIC                Testing is available on request.

TESTING:

CREDIT REFERANCE:           Full credit check / ITC checks available upon request.

CLIENT ASSESSMENT:        Interviews with candidates are arranged as requested by the client.  Interview feed-back is communicated to both client and candidate.

 

COMPLIANCE WITH THE LABOUR RELATIONS ACT

In complying with the Labour Relations Act, information gathered, i.e. age, sex, criminal record, health, credit record, marital status, etc, is contrary to the provision of the Labour Relations and Employment Equity Acts.  If this information is used to discriminate against a potential candidate, it is illegal.  Therefore, the information will be forwarded to the client if SB&A is satisfied that the information will not be used to discriminate against potential candidates.

Confidentiality in dealing with proposed candidates is of utmost importance.
