Emira raises occupancy and outlook

Property unit trust Emira Property Fund, which listed on the JSE Securities Exchange SA in November last year, has managed to significantly reduce vacancies in its property portfolio, having let about 20552m² of space in the past seven months.

Although some property commentators have expressed doubt about significant new listings coming to market in the next year, others have not ruled themout, saying there may be scope for one or two on the JSE Securities Exchange SA.

Acquisitions, low rates boost performance

 

The listed property sector is expected to benefit from anticipated stability in the interest rate environment, which should create growth prospects in distributable earnings.

 

Pretoria - Vukile Property Fund, the second listed initiative by Sanlam Properties, was listed on the real estate sector of the JSE Securities Exchange yesterday.

Provest launches its first unit trust

Provest Management listed its first unit trust, the Provest Property Equity Fund, on Tuesday 1 June.

 

If funds in the listed property unit trust and property loan stock sectorwant to be rated as a preferred stock by asset managers, they need to deliverdistributable earnings growth in the region of 5%.

More listings expected to secure debt
