Machanik ‘broke, needs job as agent'

PROPERTY doyenne Wendy Machanik, who is broke and living on borrowed money, needed to get a fidelity fund certificate allowing her to find work as an estate agent, her lawyer, Cyril Ziman, said on Friday.

Although the tender for the Open Road Tolling system project was awarded to a foreign company, more than 90% of staff on the project will be South African.

Gauteng motorists are to pay more toll fees, with provincial government adding more roads.

Capital Property Fund and Pangbourne Properties said on Thursday they had received approvals from both the Competition Tribunal and South Gauteng High Court for their tie-up deal.

The transport dept's decision to temporarily suspend the implementation of electronic toll-road fees in Gauteng was made to avoid 'choking' the economy.
