Namaqua diamond mine a 'tough sale'

 

A DIAMOND mine was an unusual attraction at the Aucor property auction yesterday when a selection of properties including a complex of three houses, factory and warehouse were on offer at what was described as a “very tough” sale.

THE 32-storey Mariston Hotel, a Johannesburg landmark, will be auctioned this month, one of the biggest buildings to come under the hammer in Johannesburg in recent times.

Property auctions shed their stigma

The flourishing industrial and commercial property market and the growing popularity of auctions has resulted in an increasing number of properties coming under the hammer, urging Aucor to consider holding two multiple auctions a month.

 

Aucor's commercial and industrial auction last Tuesday started off with the offer of a small retail centre in Benoni, and ended with the multimillion rand sale of a shopping complex in Sandton, while a short nostalgic interlude for auctioneer Eddie Winterstein featured in between.

Aucor sells slice to black investor
