South African millennials are buying homes

Millennials in South African have purchased homes in great numbers in recent years. According to statistics supplied by property group Lightstone, almost 330 000 millennials bought homes in South Africa between 2015 and 2017 and 70% of them were first-time homebuyers.

The announcement on the 15 June 2018 that Basil Read Construction is applying for business rescue is a clear indication of the critical state of the construction industry, says Mohau Mphomela, Executive Director, Master Builders Association North.

Dipula capital raise 32% oversubcribed

JSE diversified REIT - Dipula Income Fund (Dipula) – yesterday announced the results of its successful bookbuild in which it raised approximately R790 million.

The value of outstanding credit balances in the South African household sector increased by 3,8% to R1 542,8 billion in 2017, up from a low of 0,7% in 2016.

The results represent the first full year performance of Ascension since Rebosis acquired the asset manager of Ascension in February 2014.
