KMP Printechnik, a global printing components manufacturer with 10 factories in Europe and Africa, is developing nearly 7 000m2 of land at Capricorn Business and Technology Park in Muizenberg.

Founder Heinz Sieg, who will be investing millions of rands at Capricorn, started his business 15 years ago in Germany.

His company grew into an international force, specialising in recycling and manufacturing computer printing components. He has bought two sites at Capricorn, one for a R6m hi-tech factory and the other for future expansion.

Building began in November and factory operations should start early next year. KMP Printechnik has appointed Ali Amri to run the SA operation from which it plans to expand into Sub-Saharan Africa. Capricorn marketing manager Steve Kruger said: 'This is the type of hi-tech industry Capricorn is designed to attract, and the entrepreneurial spirit of Mr Sieg E is a great coup for us.'
