Emalahleni’s only regional shopping centre, Highveld Mall, set to launch phase 3 on 25 October 2012, will offer customers even more of what they enjoy.

With extensive construction currently in progress, and a selection of South Africa’s finest stores waiting to take their place within, Highveld Mall is well on its way to becoming the shopping mecca of Mpumalanga and beyond.

Encouraged by a steadily growing rise in retailer demand, Highveld Mall earlier this year began work on a redevelopment project that will eventually see the mall’s existing 49 000sqm grow to an even more impressive 65 000sqm, as another 11 300sqm gla are added to its floor plan. Now in Phase 3 of the construction process, the new and improved Highveld Mall is starting to take shape, much to the excitement of management and customers alike.

“The fact that we have begun work on Phase 3 of our construction is great news”, says General Manager Sandra Vanderwalt. “We are well on our way to meeting the deadline we have set, and look forward to welcoming customers to the newly transformed Highveld Mall in October 2012”.

Representing a R220 million investment by joint shareholders Resilient Properties, Flanagan & Gerard, Mogwele Trading 278 and Retraction Props 7, the mall’s expansion project is an extensive one that aims to meet retail demand, add value to the customer experience and upgrade the existing facilities to a world-class level.

Other new additions to the mall include a Nando’s branch within the food court, a McDonald’s branch between the mall and The Ridge Casino for an even more enhanced shopping experience, and added customer convenience.

As well as improving on its retail offering, Highveld Mall is also improving on its service offering. Commuters can look forward to upgraded taxi and bus facilities, while shoppers will be able to enjoy the benefits of 800 extra parking bays, 500 of which will be conveniently located undercover in the mall’s basement. In addition, the extended parking offering will also improve internal traffic flows, making Highveld Mall easier to access than ever before.

“With such a comprehensive expansion plan and so many improvements for customers to enjoy, Highveld Mall is set to take its place as one of South Africa’s leading shopping destinations”, says Vanderwalt. “We look forward to sharing this premier experience with as many customers as possible come October!”
