A brand-new 90 hectare corporate estate in Lanseria, north of Johannesburg, is expected to inject billions of rands into the province.

The Lanseria Corporate Estate is a carefully planned project by an investment consortium that includes Efcon Capital and New Property Ventures, marketed by Montagu Property Group and Property Logic.

The estate enjoys excellent visibility on Malibongwe Drive (R512) between the N14 and Lanseria International Airport.

With services, including perimeter walling and gatehouses, already installed the estate will offer a secure, easily accessible and eco-friendly working environment.

About 160 stands have already been zoned for industrial purposes.

Jurgen Erhart, managing director of Efcon Capital, said the new estate would contribute to economic development.

"The economic benefits of the estate include up to 19000 jobs during the construction phase as well as an estimated 11000 direct and indirect permanent jobs created post-completion," Erhart said.

"The estate represents a R200million investment in basic infrastructure, combined with more than Rbillion in new investment expected over the next seven years," he said.

Lanseria International Airport expects more than one million passengers this year and to facilitate 4million passengers by 2017.

Simon Mills, director at Property Logic, said the area had potential for tourism spurred by the neighbouring Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site.

"As traffic congestion stifles efficiencies in major centres and as new Open Road Toll (ORT) nears introduction, many business owners are looking for opportunities where transport costs, direct and indirect are lowest," said John Whall of Montagu Property Group.

Electricity for the development is secured with standard 100Kva three phase power available for each stand.

Security will include 24-hour guards and dual-perimeter fencing.

"The estate will be a sought after commercial address," Erhart said.
