Canal Walk’s marketing excellence wins two top industry awards

Canal Walk was the only shopping centre in South Africa to be honoured with two gold marketing awards at the recent annual South African Council of Shopping Centres (SACSC) Spectrum Awards ceremony held in Johannesburg

Scooping double golds in the Footprint Marketing Awards category, Marketing Concepts’ excellence at Canal Walk was recognized for both the outstanding ‘Cape Town’s Got Talent’ promotion, and the grand opening of the new Canal Walk Boulevard Shopping. 

Marketing Manager of Canal Walk, Camilla Lor of Marketing Concepts says: “We are delighted to be recognized by our industry through these prestigious national awards. Even more so as we are the only shopping centre to achieve two awards.”

Wayne Abegglen, Canal Walk CEO is equally pleased with the awards. “The Canal Walk marketing team works tirelessly to innovate campaigns and promotions that create an environment that shoppers will enjoy and that enhance the overall experience at Canal Walk. Importantly, these efforts contribute to the centre’s attractiveness which benefits our retailers enormously.”

The Spectrum Awards honour innovation, creativity, vision and excellence across four categories: retailer, service provider, design and development and marketing.
