Equites officially begin wheeling onto the City of Cape Town's grid.

Equites Property Fund Limited announced that as of 1 May 2024 it has officially started wheeling renewable energy, generated by solar PV, onto Cape Town’s grid from its newly established 17 653m² A-grade distribution centre, located in Parow.

South Africa, with its vast renewable energy resources such as solar power, has the potential to become one of the world’s fastest growing economic hubs, according to Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe.

Energy Minister Dipuo Peters has lauded the first solar energy farm in the North West, saying that the community can already see the plant will contribute to the betterment of the area.
